Ocean Adventures Hawaiʻi was built around a simple idea: a day on the water is better when it doesn’t feel like a group tour. We specialize in small-group cruises and private charters along the Waikīkī coastline, with regularly scheduled cruises limited to just six guests. Keeping things small allows us to offer a more comfortable, personal experience—without crowded decks, long lines, or dozens of people competing for the same view. Our home on the water is the Kona Star, a 45-foot classic trawler with plenty of room to settle in, move around and enjoy the day. Whether you join us for a morning cruise, snorkeling at Turtle Canyon, whale watching, sunset, Friday night fireworks or a private charter of your own, the experience is intentionally relaxed and uncomplicated. Good company. A capable crew. A comfortable boat. And one of the best coastlines in the world just outside the railing.

Meet the Kona Star

The Kona Star isn’t a stripped-down sightseeing boat. She’s a comfortable,
character-filled vessel designed for spending time on the water.

Guests can choose between open-air decks, shaded seating and an enclosed
cabin, with plenty of space to move around throughout the cruise. Onboard
amenities include two restrooms, multiple seating areas, coolers and ice,
Bluetooth speakers, a swim platform and ladder, freshwater rinse and snorkel
gear for our in-water adventures.

There’s room to find your own spot, whether that means stretching out in the
sun, sitting in the shade with a cold drink, or heading inside for a break.

It’s comfortable without being fussy—and feels much more like spending the
day aboard a private boat than joining a conventional Waikīkī tour.

Why We Keep It Small

For us, six guests isn’t a marketing gimmick. It changes the experience.

Our crew can actually get to know the people aboard. Guests have room to
move around. Questions turn into conversations. And the cruise can feel easy
and spontaneous rather than choreographed for a large group.

That’s the kind of experience we want to provide.

Our daily cruises accommodate up to six guests, while private charters
aboard the Kona Star are available for groups of up to 12.
