Why We're Different

One boat. Six guests. That changes everything.

Small by design

Most Waikīkī tours run 40–100 passengers. We cap every cruise at six. Uncrowded deck, room to breathe, a captain who knows your name.

Honest about wildlife

We never promise sightings and never chase the animals — we follow federal viewing rules and we're pretty good at being where they want to be.

In the heart of Waikīkī

Slip #64 at Ala Wai Boat Harbor — minutes from most Waikīkī hotels, $1/hour parking next to the boat, away from the resort bustle.

Whale season: December–April — Hawaiʻi's waters hold the largest humpback concentration in the Northern Hemisphere. Learn more →

Proposals, weddings, anniversaries, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, baby showers, corporate outings, photography sessions, fishing trips — every charter is fully customizable in duration, route, and tone. Tell us what you're thinking, even if it's not fully formed yet.

Honor the life of your loved one with a private ash scattering ceremony or celebration-of-life cruise on the calm waters off Waikīkī and Oʻahu's south shore. Families gather aboard the Kona Star for a peaceful farewell — with time for personal words, music, and the scattering of ashes — guided by a licensed captain and a compassionate local crew, well offshore and in full accordance with federal requirements.

Every ceremony includes a private charter for your family, fresh flower petals for each guest, and time for reflection along Hawaiʻi's beautiful coastline. $999 all-inclusive for up to 6 guests — larger groups, call to plan.

Frequently asked

Where do we meet?

Ala Wai Boat Harbor, Slip #64 — 1651 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96815. Minutes from most Waikīkī hotels. Search "Ocean Adventures Hawaii" on Google Maps.

When should I arrive?

Check-in is fifteen (15) minutes before your scheduled departure. Out of respect for our guests, we leave on time — refunds can't be processed for guests who miss the boat.

Where do I park?

There's a parking lot at the harbor next to our boat — $1 per hour. On weekends and holidays, allow extra time or consider a rideshare.

What's your cancellation policy?

A strict 24-hour cancellation policy applies. If we cancel due to weather — strong wind, high waves, or heavy rain — you receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Do you offer kamaʻāina or military discounts?

Yes — 10% off for local residents and for military members and their families. Call or message us to apply.

Will we see dolphins (or whales, sea turtles, etc.)?

The wildlife we encounter are wild animals, so there are no guarantees. They don't operate on a schedule and move around as they like. The presence of any particular species is never guaranteed, but we are pretty good at finding them — so if they're in the area, we'll do our best to see them.

Can I get close to the turtles?

There are very strict NOAA rules and regulations that state every individual must remain at least 10 feet from them at all times — to respect the animals in their natural habitat and for your own safety.

Do you provide snorkel gear?

Yes. We provide clean, high quality masks, snorkels, and fins for both adults and children. We also have life jackets and other floatation options available. All masks and snorkels are cleaned and disinfected after each use.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

Yes, we have 2 bathrooms aboard the Kona Star.

Can I bring my own food / drinks?

Yes. We have large coolers with ice on board and a fridge that you can use to keep stuff cold. Alcoholic beverages are allowed.
